OLPC Austria

Über das Projekt “One Laptop Per Child” hatte ich schon einmal ein YouTube Video gezeigt. Gestern gab es von der OLPC Austria eine Veranstaltung in Graz auf die ich leider zu spät aufmerksam wurde.
Dafür habe ich deren Homepage entdeckt und schmökerte ein wenig darin:

“The mission of this non-profit association is to develop a low-cost laptop—the “$100 Laptop”—a technology that could revolutionize how we educate the world’s children. Our goal is to provide children around the world with new opportunities to explore, experiment, and express themselves.
Why do children in developing nations need laptops? Laptops are both a window and a tool: a window into the world and a tool with which to think. They are a wonderful way for all children to learn learning through independent interaction and exploration.

Ich bin eigentlich sehr interessiert an dieser Entwicklung, weil in Tagen wo wir über m-Learning (mobile Learning) oder u-Learning (ubiquitous Learning) diskutieren ist dieses Gerät auf alle Fälle zu beachten. Angenommen man stattet Volksschulkinder mit diesen Laptops aus, dann bedeutet dies, dass diese Generation von der Pieke auf mit diesen Endgeräten und all den neuen Möglichkeiten umgehen kann. Spannend, denn dies wird meines Erachtens den Unterricht revolutionieren.
