Die Wichtigkeit von Medienkompetenz in der Welt von heute und morgen ist eigentlich unbestritten. Vorallem auch die Glaubwürdigkeit von Informationen in einer komplett digitalisierten Welt in der Inhalte beliebig erstellt und veröffentlicht werden können, muss ständig kritisch hinterfragt werden.
Einen sehr netten Beitrag hierzu liefert uns Qbrick mit einem unglaublich interessanten Video – zurücklehnen und darüber nachdenken:

Einladung zum Webmontag
Ich bin gefragt worden, ob ich nächste Woche am Online-Webmontag einen Beitrag zum Spezialthema „Bildung und Social Media“ halten möchte und habe dem gerne zugestimmt. Ich werde dabei über Erfahrungen des Einsatzes von Microblogging an einer österreichischen Hochschule berichten, wie es sich in der alltäglichen Praxis bewährt hat (oder auch nicht) und wo ich Stärken und Schwächen sehe.
Als Grundlage wird mir die Veröffentlichung „Microblogs in Higher Education – a chance to facilitate informal and process oriented learning?“ dienen, woraus ich einige Tabellen und Grafiken vorstelle.
Möchte also alle die daran interessiert sind herzlich einladen an dieser Online Diskussion teilzunehmen.

I like to announce the Call for Papers for the first „PLE Conference“ in Barcelona, Spain this year.
Personal Learning Environments (PLE) include the tools, communities, and services that constitute the individual educational platforms learners use to direct their own learning and pursue educational goals. The idea of the PLE represents a shift away from the model in which students consume information through independent channels such as the library, a textbook, or an LMS, moving instead to a model where students draw connections from a growing matrix of resources that they select and organize. Because they emphasize relationships, PLEs can promote authentic learning by incorporating expert feedback into learning activities and resources. A PLE also puts students in charge of their own learning processes, challenging them to reflect on the tools and resources that help them learn best. By design, a PLE is created from self-direction, and therefore the responsibility for organization—and thereby for learning—rests with the learner ….

We are happy to announce that our publication „Microblogs in Higher Education – a chance to facilitate informal and process oriented learning?“ published in Journal Computer & Education is now online available.
Abstract:
Microblogging is one of the latest Web 2.0 technologies. The key elements are online communication using 140 characters and the fact that it involves “following” anyone. There has been a great deal of excitement about this in recent months. This paper reports on a research study that was carried out on the use of a microblogging platform for process-oriented learning in Higher Education. Students of the University of Applied Sciences of Upper Austria used the tool throughout their course. All postings were carefully tracked, examined and analyzed in order to explore the possibilities offered by microblogging in education. It can be concluded that microblogging should be seen as a completely new form of communication that can support informal learning beyond classrooms.

Tut mir leid, das hat nun wirklich gar nichts mit e-Learning zu tun, aber ich bin manchmal wirklich angetan welche Kreatitivät das iPhone auslöst – die Steuerung eines Minihelikopter. Unglaubliche Spielerei, aber ich stimme Matthias absolut zu, dass dieses Device dem Massenmarkt ungeahnte Möglichkeiten bringt:

Eigenartig – das Konzept ist eigentlich nicht wirklich neu: Die Bedienung des Menüs am Mobiltelefon durch simple Bewegung. Ich frage mich warum es eigentlich überhaupt noch nicht Einzug gehalten hat. Wahrscheinlich liegt es daran, dass es viele ungelöste Punkte gibt und dann vielleicht doch unpraktischer ist, als es beim ersten Hinschauen wirkt. Zumindest habe ich die Erfahrung gemacht, dass es zwar nett ist, aber im alltäglichen Einsatz ich dann doch lieber klassisch navigier.
Aber vielleicht ist dies ein brauchbarerer Einsatz:

Wie beginnt man ein neues Jahr? Nun, wir schauen einmal zurück was 2009 so passiert ist und noch schöner wenn dies auch ein wenig ironisch ist. Also alles Gute für 2010 und ich hoffe, dass wir wieder spannende Diskussionen haben werden, Meinungen austauschen und das Thema e-Learning wieder ein Stück voranbringen.
