Es freut uns, dass der erfolgreiche MOOC zu “Atlas of Digital Architecture” eine Fortsetzung findet in “Atlas of Digital Architecture – Part 2“

Digitale Technologie und Architektur sind untrennbar geworden, wobei neue Ansätze und Methoden nicht nur die Arbeitsabläufe und Praxis von Architektinnen und Architekten beeinflussen; sie verändern den Charakter der Architektur selbst. Dieses MOOC ist nach dem Atlas of Digital Architecture benannt, einem umfangreichen Lehrbuch über die unzähligen Arten und Weisen wie Computer heute in der Architektur verwendet werden. Durch eine Reihe von ansprechenden, episodischen online Vorträgen und Diskussionen, bietet dieser MOOC eine Einführung und Orientierung zu der faszinierenden und sich schnell ändernden Welt der digitalen Architektur.
Der Atlas of Digital Architecture, das Buch auf dem dieser MOOC basiert, vereint das Wissen von zwei Dutzend Professor*innen und Lehrenden an Universitäten und Hochschulen des deutschsprachigen Raums, von denen viele in diesem MOOC auftreten und ihre Expertise teilen. Das Buch wurde von Sebastian Michael, geschrieben, einem in London lebenden Autor, welcher auch in den Videos als Präsentator auftritt.
Dies ist Teil 2 in einer Reihe von fünf MOOCs, welche die Gruppe vorbereitet, um schließlich die gesamte thematische Breite des Atlas abzudecken. Jede der Lektionen bietet sowohl eine historische Perspektive als auch einen konzeptuellen Ausblick um einen Begriff der Kontinuität von Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft zu vermitteln. Über ein normales Lehrbuch hinausgehend postuliert der Atlas auch einen theoretischen Rahmen für Architektur im 21sten Jahrhundert, was sich auch in diesem MOOC niederschlägt.
Der MOOC wird auf englisch präsentiert, wobei allerdings einige der Vorträge und alle Diskussionen deutsch sind. Wir empfehlen deswegen die Verwendung der Untertitel, welche für alle Videos sowohl in deutsch als auch in englisch verfügbar sind.

We are very happy that we can announce that our third excellence MOOC from Graz University of Technology is starting today at iMooX.at. The topic is “Atlas of Digital Architecture” and offers an orientation to the myriad ways in which computers are used in architecture today, such as: 3D Modelling and CAD; Rendering and Visualisation; Scripting, Typography, Text & Code; Digital Manufacturing and Model Making; GIS, BIM, Simulation, and Big Data & Machine Learning, to name but these.

Digital technology and architecture have become inseparable, with new approaches and methodologies not just affecting the workflows and practice of architects, but shaping the very character of architecture. This MOOC is named after and based on the Atlas of Digital Architecture, a compendious textbook about the myriad ways in which computers are used in architecture today. Through a series of engaging, episodic online lectures and discussions, the MOOC offers an introduction and orientation to the fascinating and fast changing world of digital architecture.
The Atlas of Digital Architecture, the book that this MOOC is based on, brings together the knowledge of two dozen university professors and lecturers from the German speaking world, many of whom feature in this MOOC, sharing their vast range of expertise. The book was written by London-based writer Sebastian Michael who also acts as the presenter of the course in the videos.
This is the first of five MOOCs that the group is preparing to eventually represent the whole thematic breadth of the book. Each episode provides both a historical perspective and a conceptual outlook to convey a sense of continuity between past, present, and future. Going beyond the confines of the traditional textbook, the Atlas also postulates a theoretical framework for architecture in the 21st century, which is reflected in this MOOC.
The MOOC is mostly in English, though German is spoken in some of the discussions and lectures. Note that subtitles in both English and German are available throughout for all videos.

LLT-Frühstück im Atlas der guten Lehre #llt

Es freut uns, dass unser LLT-Frühstück nun auch einen Platz im Atlas der guten Lehre gefunden hat.

Das Dialog-Format LLT-Frühstück bietet Lehrenden eine Plattform, um mit der Organisationseinheit (OE) Lehr- und Lerntechnologien (LLT) in Kontakt zu treten. Im ungezwungenen Rahmen soll den Lehrenden die Möglichkeit geboten werden, mit den Mitarbeiter*innen der OE sowie mit Kolleg*innen in einen aktiven, ehrlichen und kreativen Austausch rund um digitale Lehre zu gehen.
Ziel ist, die Lehrenden regelmäßig über aktuelle Innovationen im Bereich Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) zu informieren.
