[podcast] [iTunesU] iPhone Application Development

Wir bieten ab diesem Sommersemester iPhone Application Development im Rahmen der Vorlesung AK Medientechnologien an der TU Graz an:

Die Lehrveranstaltung ‚AK Medientechnologies‘ (Advanced Topics of Media Technologies) beschäftigt sich mit der Applikationsentwicklung auf mobilen Geräten am Beispiel des iPhones.
Hierzu wird eine überblicksmäßige Einführung in die Software-Entwicklung für das iPhone OS gegeben. Studierende sollen nach diesem „Crashkurs“ die Möglichkeit haben, sich selbst in den Entwicklungswerkzeugen zurecht zu finden, selbst die für die Softwareentwicklung weiterführende Dokumentation zu finden, und selbst Software für iPhone OS zu entwickeln und zu verteilen.

Auf iTunesU sind nun neben den Vorlesungsfolien auch alle Aufzeichnungen als Podcast online.

[workshop] Using Microblogging to enhance communication within Communities of Practice

Due to the fact that I agreed to serve as member of the program committee I also like to hint to the forthcoming workshop „Using Microblogging to enhance communication within Communities of Practice“ (MicroECoP) within the WCC 2010 conference in Brisbane, Australia.
The workshop aims to discuss:

A number of questions are emerging from the early use of micro-blogs as social networking tools that connect communities of practice and interest. These include: How can microblogs support the development of professional communities of practice? How can microblogs be effectively incorporated into formalised professional learning? How can we measure the optimum levels of engagement necessary for microblogs to be successful social networking tools within professional communities of practice? How are communities of practice enhanced or enriched as a result of the application of microblogs? What about issues of security, privacy and intellectual property – how can these be protected? Do the filtering features on microblogs constitute semantic tools?

[discussion] „Das Internet – ein Bildungsraum?“

Das EduCamp in Hamburg ist vorbei. Ich konnte leider nicht teilnehmen, habe aber mit großen Interesse die aufgezeichnete Podiumsdiskussion verfolgt und bedanke mich auch für die Statements von Kerstin und Helge, sowie auch von Prof. Schulmeister die uns daran erinnern, dass es keine Revolution ist, sondern dass wir einen langen Weg der Forschung vor uns haben um Neue Medien gezielt und didaktisch sinnvoll einzuführen:

Special Issue: MashUps for Learning

We are very happy that we can announce that the Special Issue on „MahsUps for Learning“ is now published (open access). Togehter with Sandra and Ralf the results of our Workshop at last year ICL Conference are online available:

The special track “Mashups for Learning” (MASHL 2009) took place within the “International Conference on Interactive Computer Aided Learning” (ICL 2009) in Villach, Austria. Personal Learning Environments (PLE) are the application type for mashing up learning services. We asked for contributions for an increasing research field. MASHL 2009 provided an excellent space for discussions in order to improve the learning and teaching routines of tomorrow. This special issue consists of the outcomes of this intensive process with international experts.
