Abstract:
Educational content creation, distribution and access is key to 21st century learning. At the same time mobility is a fact of modern life style and therefore a requirement for technologies around e-learning. We are going to present the value on Mobility in Education.

Our publication about “First Experiences with OLPC in European Classrooms” at this year E-Learn Conference is now online available.
Abstract:
The use of laptops in educational settings is discussed by lots of e-Learning researchers for years now. Since 2002 the One Laptop Per Child project (OLPC-project) tries to bring digital devices to developing countries avoiding the increase of the digital gap. Austria has been one of the first countries in the European Union (EU) to start an OLPC-project on its own. The focus was on the use of digital devices in education at a very early stage. Accompanied by a solid research team, bringing teachers, e-learning experts as well as software developer together, a first attempt was established. This publication aims to carry out the description of the prework, the first real life setting and concludes with the experiences of the whole research group. Furthermore it summarizes a recommendation for a transfer of the project to developing countries.

Die Aufzeichnung des Online-Podiums “Befragungen Studierender zum Thema E-Learning” bei e-teaching.org ist nun online verfügbar.
In einer Podiumsdiskussion stellten Dr. Michael Gerth (Uni Leipzig), Dr. Martin Ebner (TU Graz) und Dr. Matthias Rohs (Uni Zürich) die Ergebnisse von Befragungen Studierender zum Thema E-Learning an ihren Universitäten vor.
Vielen Dank nochmals den OrganisatorInnen für die ausgezeichnete Veranstaltung.
Ich bin vor kurzem über die Anwendung von Microblogging in der universitären Lehre befragt worden – der Artikel indem ich zusammen mit Steve Wheeler genannt werde, ist nun online verfügbar.
Letzte Woche ist das Austria-Forum für die Öffentlichkeit freigeschalten worden und versteht sich als umfassendes Online Lexikon rund um das Land Österreich. Es freut mich natürlich sehr, dass mein Dissertationsvater Prof. Hermann Maurer mit viel Engagement dieses Projekt vorantreibt, um uns eine enorme Fülle an Informationen zur Verfügung zu stellen.
Das Austria-Forum ist eine von unabhängigen Wissenschaftern und Publizisten gestaltete und der Allgemeinheit zur Verfügung gestellte Wissens- und Diskussionsplattform mit Schwerpunkt Österreich. Inhaltlich orientiert sich das Austria-Forum am Gedanken des Universal-Lexikons und der Mitgestaltung durch volksbildnerisch engagierte Benutzer.
