[sem1p] Projektarbeit eModeration

Im Projektseminar „E-Moderation“ sollen kurze Filme bzw. Slidescasts zu Themen aus dem Feld von E-Kommunikation und E-Moderation entstehen. Vier Teams arbeiten zu spannenden Themen. Beim heutigen Präsenztermin geht die Arbeit am Drehbuch los.

Our publication on „@twitter Try out #Grabeeter to Export, Archive and Search Your Tweets“ for this year Research 2.0 Workshop at ECTEL Conference is now online available. The slides you will find here.
Abstract:

The microblogging platform Twitter is beside Facebook the fastest growing social networking application of the last years. It is used in different ways, e.g. to enhance events (conferences) by sending updates, hyperlinks or other data as a news-stream to a broader public. Until now the stream ends with the end of the event. In this publication a new application is introduced that allows information retrieval and knowledge discovery by searching through local stored tweets related to a corresponding event. The architecture of the prototype is described as well as how the data is being accessed by a web application and a local client. It can be stated that making tweets available after the end of an event, enhances the way we deal with information in future.

[iPhone app] SciFinder

Im Rahmen einer Diplomarbeit rund um das Thema „Profiling“ – also was kann man automatisiert über Personen finden im WorldWideWeb – ist diese iPhone App entstanden: SciFinder. Das Ziel ist die Suche nach wissenschaftlich tätigen Personen zu vereinfachen, deren Profil abzuspeichern und so letztendlich die Kontaktaufnahme zu erleichtern:

SciFinder ist eine einfach zu bedienende App mit der Wissenschafter und andere Personen im Internet gesucht werden können. Die App kombiniert:

  • Suchen auf Google nach Webseiten und Bildern,
  • eine Suche nach Papers und anderen Publikationen auf Google Scholar und
  • Suchen nach einer Person auf Facebook und Twitter.

Die App kann die gefundenen Links der Person speichern und wenn erwünscht einen neuen Kontakt im Adressbuch für diese Person anlegen.
