Hier der Abstract:

This paper tracks the question how the usage of an interactive pen display benefits teaching at universities. The advantages and disadvantages as well as important didactical aspects that need to be concerned in this context are discussed. First results of a survey on the application area of interactive pen displays for higher education purpose that was carried out at Graz University of Technology (TU Graz) in winter term 2007/08 are reflected. Although the results of the survey are surprisingly significant in favour of the interactive pen display overall strategies for a widespread usage at universities are recommended.

ED-Media Konferenz Wien 2008

So wir sind also da und die ersten Workshops haben bereits begonnen.
Ich weiß auch ehrlich gesagt nicht, wie sich aufgrund unserer organisatorischen Mitwirkung es mir möglich ist von der Konferenz zu bloggen.
Was aber ziemlich sicher ist, dass wir versuchen werden von der Konferenz zu twitter.
Einerseits gibt es einen eigenen Twittterstream der ED-Media.
Und dann werden wir auch mittels #edmedia08 arbeiten, sodass hier alles übersichtlich dargestellt ist:

    Rückschau Microlearning 2008

    Die heurige Microlearning Konferenz 2008 ist vorbei und sie war wie immer sehr interessant. Besonders schön ist, viele Bekannte zu treffen (Mark, Martin und, und, und …) und ihre neue Arbeiten anzusehen.
    Interessant vor allem auch wie unser Umgang mit twitter gewachsen ist. Nicht nur zur Diskussion vielmehr auch schon zur Dokumentation von vielen kleinen Stücken (mircocontent 🙂 ).

    [publication] Useful Oblivion Versus Information Overload in e-Learning: Examples in the context of Wiki Systems

    Andreas Holzinger hat gestern unser gemeinsames Paper „Useful Oblivion Versus Information Overload in e-Learning: Examples in the context of Wiki Systems“ auf der ITI 2008 präsentiert.
    Im Wesentlichen geht es um die Idee wie man die Unüberschaubarkeit von Wikiinhalten vielleicht besser organisieren kann bzw. wie man die Dynamik wachsender Systeme in den Griff bekommt. Anhand von Visualisation und der Idee der Knotenalterung wurde das Konzept präsentiert:

    Information Overload refers to the state of having too much information to make a decision or remain informed about a topic. We present a novel approach of filtering, adapting and visualizing content inside a Wiki knowledge base. Thereby we follow the question of how to optimize the process of learning, with respect to shorter time and higher quality, in face of increasing and changing information. Our work adopts a consolidation mechanism of the human memory, in order to reveal and shape key structures of a Wiki hypergraph. Our hypothesis so far is that visualization of these structures enables a more efficient learning.

    [paper accepted] ICL 2008

    Mandy Schiefner und ich haben einen Beitrag über „Weblogs, more than just a toy? or Should I keep a e-Portfolio for my PhD study?” für die heurige ICL 2008 in Villach verfasst und dieser wurde angenommen.

    Abstract der Publikation:

    Weblogs have a great potential to support doctoral studies. By the integration of weblogs in this phase of ones study students have the opportunity to support their self-directed learning process over a long period of time: they resort to a memory-pool of information and ideas, they have an opportunity of metacognition and reflection and they have the opportunity of a discourse with the scientific community. Furthermore a weblog is a great chance to gain reputation in an early phase of the doctoral study. In this article some ideas about weblogs in doctoral studies are argued.

    Twitter Stream von der ED-Media Konferenz 2008

    Wir werden heuer bei einer der weltgrößten Konferenzen, der ED-Media 2008, in Wien erstmals auch Twitter als Konferenbegleitung verwenden. Meine Gruppe wurde eingeteilt, dies organisatorisch zu betreuen.
    Hier ist also der Account, für alle jene die teilnehmen werden bzw. nicht können, aber trotzdem mitreden möchten. Wir bitten euch einfach dem Microblog zu folgen, wir werden euch dann ebenso als Followers aufnehmen. Also dann hoffe ich auf spannende Diskussionen, Anregungen und vieles mehr.
