[plugin] OJS-Plugin: HTML5-Player zur Anzeige der Artikel #zfhe #l3t

Rainer Maria Reitbauer hat im Rahmen seiner Bachelorarbeit einen HTML5-Player für das OJS entwickelt. Das „Open Journal System“ ist das professionelle Zeitschriftenverwaltungssystem, dass bei unseren Projekten zum Einsatz kommt. Und das System kann ja vieles – aber eben auch vieles nicht. Und was das System z.B. leider bisher nicht konnte: Das Anzeigen und Einbetten von Beiträgen auf anderen Webseiten. Das ist nun Geschichte, dank des neuen HTML5-Players. Für L3T:

Special Issue: Learning Analytics #jucs

Our Special Issue about Learning Analytics is published within the Journal of Universal Computer Science. We like to thank all authors and reviewers for their valuable work. All readers we wish an enjoyable reading experience.

Already back in 2006 Retalis et al. proposed their first thoughts on Learning Analytics (LA) and considered interaction analysis as a promising way to better understand the learner’s behavior. A couple of years later, further activities were organized; especially Siemens and Long predicted that the most important factor shaping the future of higher education would be big data and analytics. Just few months later, the Horizon Report also described Learning Analytics as a big trend for the forthcoming years. Since then a number of conferences (for example LAK 11, LAK 12, …) have been organized and different projects have been started as well as the topic has been rising on Google trends. The number of research publications has also increased arbitrarily in different directions; for instance to define the upcoming research field, to gather practical experiences or simply to confine LA from other topics (especially from Educational Data Mining (EDM)) …

[publication] Technology Enhanced Learning and the Digital Economy: A Literature Review

Our publication about „Technology Enhanced Learning and the Digital Economy: A Literature Review“ is now online published in the International Journal of Innovation in the Digital Economy (IJIDE).
Abstract:

Throughout history, the ongoing technological progress has caused the economy to change in many aspects; furthermore, at times it triggered the dawn of a new era. In the 1980s, this happened for the last time and the digital economy has emerged over the last decades. Since then, the significance of approaches to technology enhanced learning (TEL) has increased rapidly. However, the relations between the digital economy and technology enhanced learning are hardly investigated. Therefore this study points out the known relations between technology enhanced learning and the digital economy by reviewing 1089 publications. Thereby one could recognize that the relations between the regularities of the digital economy and the field of technology enhanced learning have not been thoroughly researched yet.

Im Rahmen einer Appentwicklung für Kinder zur Messung von Sportübungen hat sich diese Publikation ergeben „KINDGERECHTES PILATES ALS INTERVENTION ZUR HALTUNGS- STABILISIERUNG UND VERBESSERUNG VON WIRBELSÄULEN- FEHLHALTUNGEN BEI SCHÜLERINNEN IM ALTER VON 10-12 JAHREN“ beim 15. Kongress der Österreichischen Sportwissenschaftlichen Gesellschaft.
Zusammenfassung:

Wirbelsäulenbeschwerden zählen zu den häufigsten chronischen Krankheiten unserer Bevölkerung. Die Anzahl der Schulkinder mit beginnenden Haltungsschäden ist steigend (Latalski et al., 2013). Ziel der Studie ist, den Effekt eines regelmäßigen Pilatesprogramms zur Stabilisation und Korrektur der Haltung aufzuzeigen. Welche Effekte auf die Haltung entstehen u.a. in geschlechtsspezifischem Kontext?

Computerspiele und Unterricht: Lernen für den Highscore des Lebens

Im Rahmen eines Interviews des Standards wurde ich zu unserem Appentwicklungen befragt – unter anderem führe ich die Buchstabenpost und die Mathetrainer an:

… Er und sein Team forschen daran, wie sich iPads im Schulunterricht einsetzen lassen und entwickeln dazu Apps zur spielerischen Vermittlung von Lehrinhalten, die frei zugänglich sind und bereits an österreichischen Schulen im Einsatz sind. Dabei konzentrieren sich die steirischen Wissenschafter auf solche Programme, bei denen die Schüler nicht einsam am Tablet arbeiten, sondern durch die Vernetzung der iPads Aufgaben gemeinsam lösen …

Unglaublich wie die Zeit vergeht, ich komm nun endliche dazu über das heurige Vertiefungsseminar zu schreib. Also die Fortsetzung bzw. Vertiefung des Themengebietes wird wieder unter den Namen „Ausgewählte Kapitel aus Technology Enhanced Learning“ abgehalten.
In der erste Einheit haben wir uns mit innovativem Unterricht beschäftigt und mit welchen Herausforderungen zu rechnen sein wird. Danach haben wir abgeleitet welche L3T-Kapitel Inhalt des Seminars sein sollten.

[CfP] Digital Innovations in Teacher Education

I just like to hint to an interesting Call for Papers titled „Digital Innovations in Teacher Education„. The University of Teacher Education Vienna in cooperation with the Reflecting Education Journal solicits original (research) papers framing pedagogic and didactic considerations, applicative scenarios or taxonomies in the field of technology-enhanced (language) learning and teaching within the context of teacher education/development.

There is little doubt that digital innovations have initiated a vivid discussion concerning the reformation or adaptation of higher education in general (cf. Wiley 2009, Strasser & Greller 2014). Especially in the field of teacher education, certain developments concerning a curricular implementation of digital technologies in initial teacher education and teacher training (including post-graduate teacher education, and continuing professional development/teacher development) can be noted. However, experts (cf. Wiley 2009, Siemens 2004) suggest that especially technological developments have often not been didactically implemented in teacher education/development curricula
